History

The Inland Empire Chapter began to take shape in 2005 with the help of Tom Tucker from the New Majority Orange County. Before the Chapter took shape, members from the Inland Empire were traveling to Orange County and Los Angeles to participate in New Majority activities. Following the assistance and encouragement from Tom Tucker, Jim Previti became the first Chairman of New Majority Inland Empire.

Previti worked hard to build up the membership required to make the new Chapter successful. He involved local elected officials, business owners, and community members to participate in the process. The first meeting, which included all five local Congressmen from the Inland Empire, officially launched the members into local politics. In 2006, just a year after the Chapter began, former Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte became Chairman.

During the beginning years of Brulte’s Chairmanship Inland Empire was the 3rd fastest growing area in the United States. This rapid growth increased the political power of the area and the membership for the Chapter. Since this boom in 2006, the Inland Empire Chapter has been involved with candidates, policy and politics from the local to the federal level. In recent years they have assisted in qualifying Proposition 11 for the 2008 General Election ballot, as well as engaging with local young Republicans and voter registration drives.
