History

Started during June 2006, the San Diego Chapter's Founding Chairman was Mick Pattinson, along with Vice-chairmen Joel Reed and Kelly Burt.  We currently boast nearly 50 members who are some of San Diego County's premier business leaders. Spouses are considered members too, which would nearly double our size.

The San Diego chapter epitomizes the New Majority philosophy of setting clear goals, ensuring accountability and transparency in all activities, building coalitions with other like-minded organizations and working tirelessly for fiscal responsibility and inclusion.  As a result, the New Majority in San Diego is a leader to Republican candidates, elected officials and policy makers of all kinds.

The upcoming 2010 and 2012 elections has focused chapter energy and resources on a strategy for focusing the electorate about the need for fiscal responsibility, accountability and inclusion when selecting the next Governor of California, legislative leaders and local officials.  Our top priority is to make sure government is made up of those who strive to promote sound, business friendly policies and efficient delivery of services. Through initiatives, reforms and amendments to existing legislation, we promote these objectives too.

All members are encouraged to participate in Chapter political strategy, endorsements and contributions. Several Ad Hoc issue committees provide direct focus, but overall the Political Affairs committee shapes our direction and defines our political goals. We provide timely education for our members about important political issues and relevant candidates through printed materials, electronic communications, and committee meetings. along with our Featured Speaker events, San Diego has created a Cabinet Event series for smaller groups of 10-20 members to meet with prominent elected officials and appointees.

All New Majority chapters maintain their own separate identity, while providing reciprocity for other chapter members to participate in chapter events.  Reciprocity ensures all members have numerous opportunities to meet other New Majority members, attend a broader event calendar, and have access to organization-wide information, resources and ideas.

Not only because of the organization-wide impact on Federal, State and local elected officials and the peer-to-peer member exchange, the San Diego chapter's amazing growth is due to the excellent quality of our members and their dedication to the principals of the New Majority.
